About Pete

Pete began learning how to skate at the age of six. Living in Peterborough, Ontario, most boys are predetermined to play hockey, so the skating lessons would be necessary to be any good at it.

Well, figure skating won out (luckily). Over the next fifteen years, Pete trained under various coaches such as Peter Dunfield, Kerry Leich, and Lyndon Johnston competing in both pairs and singles. Retirement from amateur competition came, shortly after the 1991 Nationals.

He made his professional debut in the Holiday on Ice production "Banjos and Ballalaykas", touring Europe and Mexico and remained with the company until 1994. After a five-year hiatus from performing, he again joined Holiday on Ice with the production of "Xotica" where he met Violetta, who was performing her hula-hoop act.

After a year of touring Europe and South America, they became a couple on and off the ice and developed their new act combining Hula-hoops, cube, acrobatics and adagio. In 2001, they first performed their act aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines vessel "Explorer of the Seas".

The rest is history.
